NSTI’s Nanotech 2006 Reports Record Attendance
10th Annual Nanotech Event Comes to Santa Clara, California May 20 – 25, 2007The Nano Science and Technology Institute (NSTI) announced that attendance for its Nanotech 2006 conference and trade show exceeded 3,000 attendees, representing research, commercial and investment professionals. The results make NSTI’s Nanotech series, begun in 1997, the largest nanotechnology-focused conference in North America. NSTI Nanotech 2006 also revealed researchers and investors have a very confident outlook for nanotechnology commercialization, especially in key industry sectors of the U.S. economy, such as energy, materials, cancer research, and defense.
“NSTI Nanotech 2006 in Boston was a record-breaking year where we saw attendance grow to more than 3,000,” said Dr. Matthew Laudon, Director of the Nano Science and Technology Institute. “During Nanotech 2006, we showcased more than 800 technology presentations across multiple disciplines and industries. We also offered events that focused on nanotech investment and job recruitment, and all reported strong attendance and interest.” Dr. Laudon also noted, “By showing both research and commercial professionals how nanotechnology is offering real solutions to a growing number of problems, we [the NSTI] are looking to help nanotechnology focus its efforts on results. We will continue our community-building theme at Nanotech 2007.”
The NSTI has announced next year’s Nanotech 2007 will be held in Santa Clara, California May 20-25, 2007. ”Nanotech 2007 will mark the NSTI’s 10th anniversary, and holding the event in California’s Silicon Valley, an area known for its innovation and vision, we are planning for increased activity in all facets of the conference,” notes Laudon.
