Both parties look to help reduce costs of solar energy
The partnership between Dow Corning and the University of Toledo offers provides the opportunity to share data and technology related to solar research, including thin film modeling, Nanotech PV, and optical coatings. In 2007, the university constructed the Wright Center for Photovoltaics Innovation and Commercialization, which will be a main center in the agreement. Dow Corning has two Solar Solutions Application Centers in the United States, with facilities being built in Europe and Korea. In the future, the collaboration could include partnerships with other universities or businesses.
