German-Japanese Research Consortium to Launch Project on Quantum Computing

Consortium seeks to create novel devices to enable faster computing and secure communications.
The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency have come together for the research project titled, “Quantum Computing in isotopically Engineered Diamond.” The research team includes three German universities and four teams from Japan representing both universities and government agencies. The consortium research builds on nanoelectronics research initiatives that seek to increase collaboration between the two countries.
