In this study, silica-coated nanosilver particles were made by flame aerosol technology. The effect of the silica coating on the morphology of the particles, as well as their biocompatibility was examined. Finally, the potential of these particles as biosensors was explored by the label-free detection of bovine serum albumin protein.
