We present a study of the dynamical formation of spatially localized arrays of 1-D aligned magnetic nanowires in plastic films. We demonstrate a straightforward technique, easily reproducible, where by specifically varying experimental conditions we can achieve an accurate control of the size, orientation and localization of the magnetic nanowires in the polymer matrix. The resulting films are of various polymer/nanowires combinations, exhibiting anisotropic properties and studied with various techniques. Moreover we present the in situ nanowires/polymer formation by photopolymerization, and the fabrication of photoresponsive nanowires/polymer films.
