Keywords: , , ,

Innovative nanomaterials are finding their way into paints, coatings, and plastics applications. Beside improving or modifying the mechanical polymer properties, giving higher scratch resistance for example, nanoscale materials like CeO2 are applied to improve UV stability of paint and coatings. These unique materials offer long-term protection against UV irradiation along with adjustable transparency based on particle size and size distribution. Technologies to stabilize, and if required, functionalize these materials along with application results will be presented.
