The objective of the research is to develop a new drug delivery system based on polyurethane microparticles for the treatment of tuberculosis by pulmonary administration to the lungs. The synthesis and characterization of polyurethane microcapsules are studied making use three molecular weight poly(ethylene glycol), poly(propylene glycol) and tolylene-2,4-diisocyanate. Antitubercular drugs such as isoniazid, ethionamide or rifampicin were The antitubercular effect of polyurethanes was tested using disc diffusion method against a museum strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.incorporated into the polyurethane microcapsules.
