A novel tree-like nanostructure of carbon nanotubes was prepared using growth of vertically aligned nanotubes. As an application of the structures we have used them for fabricating the gas sensor. Because of their unique branched nano-structures, they are promising candidates for the realization of sensitive gas sensors. Tree-like nanostructures fabricated using hydrogenation process applied to vertical nanotubes. so the Ni catalyst on top of nanotube was partially exposed and by secondary growth of nanotubes on initial ones, tree-like carbon nanostructures were obtained.
