Performing hazardous reactions at high pressure and high temperature in a safer and faster manner have always attracted great attention in the chemical industry. Recently, a new member of the Thales CubeTM micro-flow reactor series was developed for such purposes. The instrument have been successfully used in a wide variety of organic chemical reactions and other synthetic approaches as well including C-C-, C-N cross coupling reactions, alkylation, esterification, bromination, isonitrile synthesis, azide formation, etc. Furthermore there is an attractive possibility to run multistep reactions/in-situ reagent formation in the same device. Also, triphasic reactions can be performed in the instrument with the use of an outside gas source such as carbon monoxide or syngas. So far carbonylation and amidocarbonylation reactions were performed successfully. As an interesting applications in-situ catalyst preparation will be demonstrated during the presentation as well.
