By: Jennifer Rocha

$1.35 Billion will be given to both organizations over the next ten years to continue graphene R&D

Nokia’s CTO Henry Tirri noted in releases that the company has been working with graphene for close to seven years.  The European Union (EU) has selected graphene as one of Europe’s Future Emerging Technology (FET) flagship projects.  The EU seeks to push graphene from the lab to the marketplace, thus transforming various industries and creating new high-tech jobs for the continent.  The Graphene Flagship is being coordinated by Chalmers University, Sweden, and will include more than 120 European research institutions and industrial partners.
