biomass energy systems, biofuels, transportation industry

Although once thought of as a distant and future problem, the idea of biomass energy renewal has since become a leading topic in countries worldwide due to the overwhelming problems this earth is facing on grand scale. Besides the advantage of biomass energy over fossil fuel as a renewable alternate energy source, it has many other advantages too: sources are locally produced, it uses low cost waste products, there is solid proven technology, as well as it reduces greenhouse gases. The focus of this paper is to examine the past, present, and future of this diverse topic. The goal of the research is to conduct a literature review of biomass energy systems along with their current and future uses. The topics will include an overall review of biomass, biofuels and the transportation industry, and the future potential of biomass as an alternative renewable energy source.
