Direct Coal Power Generation using the Liquid Tin Anode SOFC

The Liquid Tin Anode Fuel Cell provides efficiency and simplicity advantages for utility power generation using coal and biomass. This paper discusses some of the performance and cost benefits of this approach. Data from lab scale testing will be presented. Test data for operation directly on military logistics fuel with high levels of sulfur will also be presented to illustrate the capabilities of the technology and its maturity level.
