My research interests are in the area of soft materials and nanotechnology. I am especially interested in the design and manipulation of nanocomposite materials where there is a strong interplay between biological and synthetic components. Most recently I have been working with the crystalline mesophases of block-copolymers and with their interaction with proteins and DNA. I obtained my BS from the University of Puerto Rico and my PhD in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Currently I am working at the NIST Center for Neutron Research in Gaithersburg Maryland using neutron scattering as a tool to characterize these novel materials.

Speaking in the Polymer Nanotechnology Symposium.
