Hypersonic Phononic Colloidal Crystals

George Fytas

George Fytas

Professor of Physical Chemistry
Department of Materials Science and Technology, University of Crete, Greece
Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Germany

George Fytas holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Technical University of Hannover, Germany, a “Habilitation” from the Univerisity of Bielefeld, Germany, and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Athens, for which he won the Greek National Scholarship Award

Prof. Fytas’ research interests include: Dynamic structure of molecular liquids. Local and global motions in amorphous solid polymers and polymer/plasticizer systems. Static and dynamic properties of polymer blends, copolymers, rigid rod polymers and soft colloids. Self assembly and phase transitions in multiconstituent polymer systems. Polymer dynamics in restricted geometries and on surfaces.Phononic soft microstructures. New applications of the dynamic laser light scattering techniques and laser interactions with condensed soft matter.

Speaking in the Nanoparticles in Soft Materials - Colloidal Systems Symposium.
