Application of Tracer Gas Testing to Evaluate Employee Exposure Control Technologies for Nanomaterials

Existing engineering controls can be effectively applied to control employee exposures to nanomaterials in the workplace. These controls can be quantitatively evaluated using a tracer gas as a surrogate for nanomaterials. Our conclusion is that the validation of engineering controls using a quantitative method such as tracer gas testing will assure that employee exposures to nanomaterials are well-controlled.
