Carbon Nanotube Films for Emissive Devices

The remarkable properties of carbon nanotubes (CNT) has motivated research efforts to explore their potential applications in several devices of great technological impact. In this contribution, we report the electrical and optical characterization of CNT films obtained by vacuum filtering surfactant-based dispersions of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT), and its application in emissive devices. SWCNT and MWCNT films (200 nm thick) presented sheet resistance of 1.9 k / and 4.1 k / . The pattern observed for I x E and Fowler-Nordheim curves for SWCNT sample, confirms the process of field emission. The results presented in this contribution indicate that CNT films obtained by filtration method shows adequate properties to be used in emissive devices technology.
