Powder-based Wet Chemical Route for Nanoparticles Preparation

In this work, an innovative combination of heterogeneous metal displacement reduction reaction and ultrasonication-assisted deplating was originated and successfully applied in preparing narrowly dispersed Au, Ag, Ru, Pt and Cu2O nanoparticles. Another advantageous combination of fast reduction and instantaneous nucleation, which are associated with the intrinsic quality of the method, demonstrates excellent merit in generating more uniform size distribution. Ultrafine Al-based powder reduction, along with other under-explored active powder species such as Zn and Fe, open up a whole new technique for simple, economic and green synthesis of various metallic nanoparticles.
