In this paper we report the fabrication of long chain polymer molecule Stearic Acid by physical vapor deposition method. Thin films of stearic acid are characterized by X-ray diffraction for the crystalline quality and by Fourier Transform Infra-red spectroscopy to identify the functional groups and are compared to as obtained powders. The micro-nanostructures of stearic acid are characterized by scanning electron microscope technique. We demonstrate the fabrication of gas sensors based on the stearic acid thin films.
