Polymer nanocomposites reinforced with carbon nanotubes have attracted recently. The properties of nanocomposites depend greatly on the chemistry of polymer matrices, nature of nanofillers and the way in which they are prepared. Properties of epoxy resin have a significant influence on the mechanical properties of the nanocomposites. Effect of matrix hardness on the mechanical properties of the carbon nanotubes reinforced epoxy composite has been reported. In this study, epon-828 and jeffamine-D400 were used. Multiwall carbon nanotubes/epoxy resin composites have been fabricated. The mechanical properties of the composite with different weight percentages of nanotubes have been investigated. A sonication technique was used to disperse nanotubes in epoxy matrix. Viscosity of the polymer nanocomposite has been investigated, too. These results are very important in fabrication of composite material such as VRTM method and etc. Particular attention is paid on the structure property relationship of such novel high performance polymer nanocomposites.
