Abstract:	P2i has a commercial, patented process that applies functional nano-coatings onto the surfaces of products made from a range of materials. One successful functional property is water and oil resistance. The treatment effectively lowers the surface energy of a material to around a third that of PTFE. However, as the coating is only nanoscale thick, the treatment does not affect the look or feel of the product, or its breathability. This has provided benefits to a diverse range of products from bioconsumables, electronic devices, filtration media and sportswear.
