We present a new class of highly organized SWCNTs network-polymer hybrid structures, by incorporating horizontally and vertically aligned SWCNTs in desired locations, orientations and dimensions on/inside flexible polymer matrices forming mechanically and electrically robust unique 2D and 3D architectures previously undemonstrated. Several SWCNTs architectures have been built on polymer materials ranging from two dimensional suspended SWCNTs micro-lines on the trenched PDMS substrate to three dimensional “PDMS-vertically aligned SWCNTs-PDMS” sandwich structures. Also, a combined lateral SWCNTs micro-lines and vertical SWCNTs flexible device was demonstrated with good electrical conductivity and low junction resistance, representing an unprecedented control over growth, assembly, and transfer processes of SWCNTs.
