Abstract:
This work was carried out in the frame of a more general research program aiming to use human stem cells to repair muscle damage in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The results of X-ray microtomography experiments, carried out both ex-vivo and in-vivo at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility are presented. It is shown that the distribution of intra-arterially delivered stem cells can be visualized by microtomography both in muscle biopsies and in living murine models, providing biological insights into the early processes of muscle stem cell homing.
