Abstract:Last a few years have witnessed a quick rise of Verilog-A language as a new standard for compact model development. Consequently there are significant interests in developing softwares which compiles compact models defined in Verilog-A language into appropriate low level language (typically C language) for the models to be implemented into SPICE simulators [1,2]. Among those compilers, the advanced device model synthesizer (ADMS), an open source software developed by Freescale Semiconductor, is becoming increasingly popular since it was introduced [3]. Because of its open source accessibility and agile architecture, it has been used by a large number of EDA vendors and semiconductor companies in different applications. In this paper, we will briefly review the architecture of the ADMS, highlight some of recent advancements of ADMS developments, and demonstrate its performance and functions with examples.
