The overarching research objective is the development of a “point-of-care” immunoassay device based on iridium oxide nanowires for disease state identification to predict human health outcomes. This device is based on electrical detection of proteins that are biomarkers for the physiological state. The key innovations of this technology include increasing the sensitivity and selectivity of detection, the linear dynamic range of detection and reducing the response time.
