The osseointegration of implants depends on surface properties of these alloys; nature of the oxide film at the metal-oxide-bone. Also stress acted on the interface between bone and implant can occur the bone resorption due to stress shielding effects. So we have tried to improve this effect by manufacture of new ternary alloy containing Ta, Nb, and Zr alloying elements. The nanotube was formed mainly on -phase in case of Ti 30Ta-3Zr and Ti-30Nb-3Zr, but formed on -phase in case of Ti 30Ta-13Zr and Ti-30Nb-3Zr alloys. The polarization resistance of nanotube-formed new ternary alloy was lower than that of the non-nanotube formed alloy | | ISBN: | 978-1-4200-8503-7 |
