New process for fabrication of microcomponents using metal nanopowder

We developed a new process to manufacture a soft mould for the small parts using two kinds of polymer, SU-8 for a master mould and Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for a soft mould and produced the small parts by filling the mould with 17-4 ph stainless steel nanopowders and sintering the green components. In order to find the optimum binder, we compared the shapes of green components produced with kinds of binders, such as polyethylene glycol (PEG), crystal bond, and polyvinyl butyl (PVB). In addition, the green components were sintered at 1000-1300℃, and the sintered were investigated in physical properties, such as density, shrinkage, and porosity, to find the best condition for sintering the green components
