Abstract:Embedding nano size CoFe2O4 ferrite particles in a hydroxyapatite (HAP) host would make them to better candidates for hyperthermia treatment of cancer. The formation of nano crystallites of CoFe2O4 ferrites in the hydroxyapatite Ca10-3xFe2xCox(PO4)6(OH)2 (where x= 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4 and 0.5 %mole) mixtures heated to temperatures between 500 and 1250°C for 2 hrs.
