Easy to use and affordable instrumentation is indispensable in reaching this goal. Nanosurf offers both STM and AFM that have been developed with three criteria in mind: ease of use, affordability, and portability. These characteristics allow both easy classroom demonstrations and more sophisticated exploration of nanometer-sized structures in student labs. The Nanosurf easyScan STM has been sold over 700 times at the time of writing, increasing its popularity with the launch of the new easyScan 2 line, which with its modular design responds even better to the original requirements. Users include universities on all continents and development continues in close relation with renowned universities such as in particular the University of Basel, where the founders of Nanosurf met in the H.-J.
