This paper studies electroelastic field concentrations ahead of electrodes for multilayer piezoelectric actuators. The electrodes are vertical to and terminated near the edges of the ceramic medium. The problem is formulated directly in terms of the electric potential between the electrode tips, results in a system of singular integral equations in which the unknown function is the electric potential. The results suggest that reduction in electrode spacing has a great tendency to reduce the field intensity factors. | | ISBN: | 0-9767985-8-1 |
