| Abstract: | An account is given of the two scools of mote design for wireless sensor networks, the maxi-mote and the mini-mote. Both approaches have their advantages, but it is argued that the maxi-mote approach is more suited to the real world applications which are emerging. The discussion is illustrated with a design comparison between two motes, with an evaluation of their likely performance in a real world application. |
