| Abstract: | Self controlled magnetic hyperthermia at tumor sites requires magnetic particles with Curie temperature similar to that of the desired tumor temperature. Elevated temperature at the tumor site was reported to decrease the tumor resistivety to chemo and radiation therapies. In the present study nanoparticles are synthesized using chemical co-precipitation method to obtain low Curie temperature magnetic particles with a moderately high value of magnetization and a high pyromagnetic coefficient. The effects of Gd substitution on the Curie temperature and magnetic properties are reported. |
