| Abstract: | A fast algorithm for particulate microflows has been used to simulate the 3D micro-colloidal pumps tested in the experiments conducted by Terray et al. The Force-Coupling Method and a penalty method were implemented in a spectral element code to simulate the dynamics of both peristaltic and gear pumps. Parametric studies were made for different viscosity, channel width and frequency to better understand the inherent mechanisms. |
