This paper addresses the establishment of a stability criterion for isothermal laminar concentric flow of two immiscible liquids. Using the approach of combined non-dimensional group anlysis and numerical simulations, it is established that the inner core liquid will be stable and maintain a thread like configuration if the capillary number exceeds unity, but it will be unstable and break up into droplets if the capillary number is below unity.
