Global Crown Capital Hires Veteran Nanotechnology Analyst

Dr. John Roy has joined the firm’s nanotechnology team as Senior Executive Director, Nanotechnology Research.

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global Crown Capital, LLC (GCC), a full-service boutique investment firm, today announced that Dr. John Roy has joined the firm’s Nanotechnology team as Senior Executive Director, Nanotechnology Research. Dr. Roy is well known and respected in the nanotechnology investment community, having been active in the nanotechnology investing space since 2001.

Prior to joining GCC, John was with WR Hambrecht + Co., as Senior Research Analyst covering Alternative Energy and Nanotechnology. Prior to that, he was a Director in Equity Research for five years at Merrill Lynch, and was responsible for heading up the firm’s nanotechnology efforts. John also worked for five years at JP Morgan, two years at Neuron Data, and five years at Hughes Aircraft Company. He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, a MSEE from the University of Southern California, and a BSEE from the University of California, San Diego where he was a Regents Scholar.
