AMD to Build $100 Million Data Center in Georgia
Mar 17, 2011
New data center to be built on land in Georgia’s Innovation Crescent region, which is becoming one of the top places in the US for data centers.
Advanced Micro Systems (AMS), which is headquartered in Silicon Valley, CA, is expected to invest a total of a quarter billion US dollars in the data center. Gwinnett County, Georgia (the ‘Innovation Crescent’) provided AMD with tax and land incentives, plus access to inexpensive power, to make the deal happen. Data centers that have already established presence in the Atlanta area include IBM and Google.
