Singapore’s A*STAR Develop Anti-Bacterial ‘Nanoskin’

Inspiration comes from nature and dolphins’ anti-fouling skins
The Industrial Consortium on Nanoimprint (ICON) at Singapore’s A*STAR (government agency for science, tech, and research) are using nanoimprint technology to create the next generation of eco-friendly, antibacterial surfaces that are completely man-made. Through nanoimprint technology, the researchers were able to create complex nanometer-sized patterns that replicate the texture of surfaces found in nature. The nanocoated surfaces have the ability to reduce infections such as Staphylococcus aureus and E-coli, and could also be applied to common plastics used in medical devices and lenseRSS feed of Nano World News
