IBM and Samsung To Collaborate on Semiconductor Technology

Joint research agreement will focus semiconductor materials, manufacturing, and additional technology areas
IBM and Samsung scientists will work together at the Semiconductor Research Alliance facility at the Albany Nanotech Complex in New York. The coming together of these two technology giants will mean advanced silicon solutions that deliver maximum performance, and optimal power consumption and size. The agreement also solidifies both companies’ competitive advantage in mobile computing and other high performance applications. The collaboration also includes a renewal of the IBM and Samsung joint process development agreement (JDA) to develop advanced technologies to enable high-performing, energy efficient chips at and beyond 20nm.
