Roche and DNA Electronics to Develop Semiconductor-based DNA Sequencing System
Nov 02, 2010
Roche’s 454 Life Sciences subsidiary entered into exclusive partnership with DNA Electronics
The semi-based DNA sequencing system would be designed to offer low-cost and high-throughput. London-based DNA Electronics brings to the table its IP covering detection of nucleotide incorporation during sequencing, and its semiconductor design knowledge. Roche brings its 454’s long read chemistry. DNA Electronics has developed technology that can detect DNA nucleotide incorporations via pH changes, which the company notes allows real-time DNA sequencing and analysis.
