The King Abdullah Nano Technology Institute in Riyadh has been established exclusively for nanotech R&D
According to various sources, the new King Abdullah Nano Technology Institute houses specialized nano research centers, home to dozens of research experts. The Institute also plans to collaborate with other nano research centers around the world. Industry application areas include but are not limited to health and medicine, aerospace, and automotive. The formation of the Institute is one of several steps Saudi Arabia has taken to transition from a petroleum-driven to an innovation-driven economy.
