Electronics giant looks to create chips based on 15nm technology

This month, Intel announced plans for 15 nanometer processes; current atoms are based circuits at 45nm. In addition to its 15nm offerings, the company will introduce several 22nm chips to enter the market after the completion of the 32nm designs. The 15nm-enabled chips should lead to improvements in processing power and efficiency, but at the time of the announcement, Intel did not disclose noted benefits of its next generation chips.
