Lithuania and IBM Announce Research Partnership

R&D efforts to focus on nanotechnology, healthcare, and patent creation & management
The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Education and Science will build a new research center, and IBM will bring expertise and collaboration teams from IBM Research laboratories from the US, Europe, and Israel. The government of Lithuania is seeking to build its knowledge-based economy, and views the five-year agreement with IBM as an ideal partnership to increase its high-tech patent and R&D activities. In the area of nanotechnology, the Lithuania-IBM partnership will focus on photonics and nanopatterning security tags.
