Mauro Ferrari, Ph.D Named President and CEO of The Methodist Hospital Research Institute
Dr. Ferrari is a pioneer in the use of biomedical nano and micro-technology for advanced drug delivery, lab diagnostics, and regenerative medicine.
The Methodist Hospital Research Institute (TMHRI) is located in Houston, TX. The TMHRI has made significant additions to its research facilities (including adding 500,000+ sq. ft. of research space), and is currently conducting more than 700 clinical trials.
In his new role with the TMHRI, Dr. Ferrari will provide leadership and organizational direction, all while continuing with his own research projects. Dr. Mauro Ferrari holds a Ph.D in mechanical engineering from the University of California at Berkeley. He received his doctorate in mathematics from Universita' di Padova in Italy. He served as Special Expert on Nanotechnology at The National Cancer Institute (NCI), has more than 30 U.S. and international patents, and has founded multiple startup companies, including NanoMedical Systems and Leonardo Biosystems.
