Canadian Venture Capital Association reports Q1 2010 venture dollars were down compared to Q1 2009
Just over $275 million was invested by the venture capital community in Canada during the first three months of 2010, compared to $279 million for the same period in 2009. Cleantech investments represented more than a quarter of all V/C activity in Canada for Q1 2010, with IT investments continuing to lead investments, capturing 37% of the total. When comparing the provinces, Quebec came out on top, accounting for than one-third of Canadian venture investments.
