Aug 26, 2009
The collaboration will focus on nanotechnology.
Japan-based Murata is the world’s largest global manufacturer of electronic devices. The School of Chemistry at the University of Manchester, led by Professor Paul O’Brien, will work with Murata on research projects focused on nanotechnology. The collaboration was worked out with assistance from the Northwest Regional Development Agency, which began the discussions back in 2007 with Murata about a possible nanotech research collaboration with a university in their region. Japan is the largest Asia foreign direct investor in the UK.
