Economist Intelligence Unit, Quintiles Life Sciences Business Survey Shows Innovation is Crucial to Continued Growth of Biopharm Industry

Survey shows while there is no single model of innovation for all companies, those that seek innovation from multiple sources have higher rate of new discoveries and products

The Economist-Quintiles survey highlights included:

• Life sciences executives cited corporate culture as the main barrier to improving innovation
• Those life sciences companies surveyed that lead the industry have created the right mix of a supportive corporate culture, have a flexible perspective on IP, and use data from both inside and outside their organization to support their efforts.
• Just over half of the executives surveyed are making changes to their innovation strategy a priority

For the survey, 282 senior executives from around the world participated, which included pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical device, and service providers.
