CTSI announces 1st Annual Defense Energy Technology Challenge, taking place at the Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit and Expo September 13-15, Honolulu, HI

Submit your defense energy solution for review by August 5!

Hawaii is one of the world's leading incubators for clean technology development through strategic partnerships with Fortune 500 corporations, U.S. military energy programs and the Hawaiian Electric Industries multiple renewable and microgrid pilot programs.

Energy security and independence are two goals at the heart of the U.S. Military’s investment in clean energy technologies. From it’s own research labs to partnerships with start-ups and major contractors, the U.S. Department of Defense is seeking innovative energy solutions to increase the safety of its troops, lower energy costs, and reduce its reliance on foreign energy supplies.

With collaboration from the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force, CTSI is launching the 1st Annual Defense Energy Technology Challenge to identify top defense-targeted clean energy solutions and match them to existing and upcoming testing and procurement opportunities. This year’s Defense Energy Technology Challenge coincides with the Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit being held September 13-15th in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Organizations with defense-related energy solutions submit application by August 5th, 2011; there is no fee to apply. Submission will be reviewed and a select group of companies will be invited to present their solutions to a high-level panel of Army, Navy, Air Force, Army Corp of Engineers, DOE and USDA officials in Honolulu on Tuesday, September 13th. After a brief presentation, organizations will receive direct feedback from the panel regarding: solution fit, strengths of technology, challenges of implementation/adoption, positioning guidance, and potential collaboration opportunities.
