UK Government Launches Funding Competition for Micro Companies

Funding project is for companies with less than 50 employees; industrial areas of interest include advanced materials and nanotechnology

The government-supported UK Technology Strategy Board (TSB) will have just over $3M US to fund feasibility studies in six areas: advanced materials, biosciences, electronics, photonics and electrical systems; high value manufacturing; ICT and nanotechnology. The TSB can provide grants up to $40,000 US per short-term project (up to 90 days), and the projects can include collaborators or a single company. The competition opens January 10, 2011.
