Energy Independence and Micro Grid Opportunity Focus of Second Annual Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit August 30-September 2

As an island state, Hawai‘i’s expedited need for renewable energy and self-sufficiency makes it a perfect location for innovators to develop and implement new technologies on the state’s microgrids.

The second annual Asia-Pacific Clean Energy Summit and Expo will be held at the Honolulu Convention Center from August 30-September 2.

“The State of Hawai‘i welcomes energy industry experts and policy decision-makers from around the globe to the Asia-Pacific Clean Energy Summit and Expo which will focus on the importance of developing a clean energy economy and increasing the energy security of our state, nation and the Asia-Pacific region,” said Governor Linda Lingle. “Long-term energy security and independence can be achieved with sustainable technologies, and Hawai‘i is working on expanding partnerships that will help us find, implement and manage those assets."

To showcase the growing early clean technology success and opportunities in Hawai‘i, the Asia-Pacific Clean Energy Summit program focuses on topics such as electric vehicle transportation, grid integration of renewable energy, energy security, efficiency, regulatory frameworks, and financing of new renewable energy technologies.
