New Zealand: Known for Its Natural Beauty, and Now Nanotechnology

New Zealand is getting serious about nanotechnology—the government will invest $498 million US towards new nanotechnology research programs in an effort to position the country as a global nanotechnology player.
The country’s funding efforts will focus mainly on novel nanomaterials for various industries, including telecommunications, energy, and textiles. The Foundation for Research, Science and Technology will distribute the funding amongst 30 organizations, and are actively seeking proposals from research organizations.
