GE Opens Smart Grid Technology Center of Excellence (COE) in Atlanta

Company will add nearly 400 new jobs to the clean energy sector

The GE smart grid lab will be developed through a collaboration between the energy giant and the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). The new smart grid center is positioned to discover and implement clean and sustainable energy solutions into GE’s existing line of energy services. The Center of Excellence will also feature a smart grid customer solutions showcase, which will have hands-on interactive displays for visitors to learn more about delivering electricity via the power grid. The Federal government, the Georgia Economic Development Office, and the office of the Governor of Georgia worked with GE to help secure the center for Atlanta.
